Long Pepper


Ingredients: long pepper (Indonesia)

With a more complex flavor then black pepper, long pepper has roots dating back to ancient Rome, and is often found in Indian, Thai, and Indonesian cooking. Long pepper can be ground in a spice grinder and used in place of black pepper to add a sweet heat with subtle hints of ginger, cardamom, and cinnamon.

Try in your homemade rubs, marinades, vinaigrettes, lentils, soups, stews, and curries.
