Ingredients: arrowroot powder

A staple in paleo and gluten free cooking, arrowroot powder is commonly used to thicken sauces, gravies, stews, soups, and more. With no odor and a neutral flavor, arrowroot powder is ideal when needing to thicken custards, puddings, jellies, and sweet pie fillings.

For best results when thickening soups, sauces, or stews, create a slurry with a 2:1 ratio of liquid to powder, and add at the end of your cooking time to avoid clumping.

As a general rule of thumb, 1 tbsp of Arrowroot will thicken one cup of liquid. It can also be used as a replacement for flour (1-1/2 tsp of Arrowroot to 1 tbsp of flour) and cornstarch (2 tsp of Arrowroot to 1 tbsp of cornstarch).
