Great in both sweet and savory dishes, nutmeg can be used to enhance oatmeal, banana bread, curries, custards, cream sauces, root vegetables, winter squash, roasted meats, and fruit pies.
Try sprinkling a little on your morning coffee, eggnog, smoothies, or lattes.
Use a microplane, nutmeg grater, or fine cheese grater, to grate whole nutmeg directly over your dish or beverage. A little goes a long way, so use sparingly, and add at the end of the cooking process for ultimate flavor.
