Hand Blended Ingredients: cayenne, sea salt, demerara sugar, yellow mustard, garlic, black pepper, paprika

Whether you are frying, grilling, or roasting, this Nashville Hot Chicken blend will bring some savory heat with hints of garlic and sweetness to your weekly meal plan. While this blend was crafted with chicken in mind, it also makes a great seasoning for turkey, pork, and seafood, as well as a secret ingredient for spicy macaroni and cheese. If using as a dry rub, use 1 Tbsp. seasoning per pound of meat.

FRIED CHICKEN INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Fill a Dutch oven or cast iron skillet with 2" of oil and heat to 350° F
  2. In a large bowl, whisk 1 Tbsp. Nashville Hot Chicken seasoning with 1 cup of buttermilk or whole milk and 2 large eggs to create a milk bath.
  3. In a second bowl, whisk 1-3 Tbsp. Nashville Hot Chicken seasoning (depending on how hot you want it) with 2 cups all-purpose flour.
  4. Coat chicken in the flour mix, then dip into the milk bath, and finally coat again in the flour mix, shaking off the excess after each step.
  5. Carefully place chicken into the hot oil, making sure not to crowd the pan.
  6. Cook, partially covered, until one side begins to brown, then turn and cook until other side turns golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165° F
  7. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels or a wire rack.

Optional: Once all the chicken is cooked, take 1/4 cup of the cooking oil and combine with 1-2 Tbsp. Nashville Hot Chicken seasoning to make a paste to brush over the chicken before serving.
