Ingredients: Ground annatto (Peru)
Ground from the seeds of the achiote tree, annatto has a mildly sweet and slight peppery taste and is often used in spice rubs, soups, stews, and marinades.
With its intense color, annatto is used to naturally add a yellow or orange hue to food. It is responsible for the natural orange color of cheddar cheese and the yellow in butter.
Annatto goes well with beef, chicken, pork, egg dishes, rice and legumes and pairs well with allspice, chili powder, citrus juice, cloves, cumin, Mexican oregano, and paprika.
