Ingredients: ground Canadian caraway
Popular in Nordic dishes dating back to ancient lake dwellers, caraway lends an earthy, anise flavor with a hint of citrus and pepper.
Caraway pairs well with beets, carrots, cabbage, cauliflower, cucumber, green beans, onions, potatoes, turnips and zucchini.
Try sprinkled over roasted potatoes, tomato soup, baked apples, or mixed into a cheese dip.
Ground caraway can be used in place of whole when the aromatic flavor of caraway is desired without the texture of the seed. The flavor of ground caraway is more potent then whole, so when substituting, use 3/4 tsp ground caraway per 1 tsp of whole caraway.
